theshavedhead.com – Back Soon

Posted in Everything Else by Paul on May 23, 2009

As I am starting to pack up everything to leave for Tokyo next week, theshavedhead.com, my online portfolio of work will also be taking a break. A new design and a much needed update is currently being created with the help of Daniel Long. After I return from Tokyo, I will be collating all my projects, re-photographing everything and gathering all my contacts that I’ve collected during the year out all ready to be on the brand new theshavedhead.com. I will be hoping to get it live again shortly after I return to LCC for my final year so watch this space.

I’ve found out this week that the work that I submitted to Noise Festival 2008 has had some success. I have been awarded a Bronze Rosette for my London 2012 Olympics work, all 6 projects that I submitted are in the 2008 showcase and my BFI work will be featured on the Noise Festival 2008 campaign poster and flyer, good times.

Check out my work in the showcase here and see if you can spot my work in the campaign poster below.

Noise Festival 2008

Posted in Competitions, Exhibitions by Paul on August 18, 2008

I have just registered and uploaded 6 projects for Noise Festival 2008. Noise is an art festival, but not your typical one. Based online, it is the first ‘virtual’ art festival in Europe.

Noise exhibits the very best in creative talent from people 25 and under; any creative work that can be presented digitally (on screen or on air) including across fashion, film, music, design, architecture, written word, graphic design, fine art and illustration.

Work is selected by Noise curators and showcased during the festival in October. Take a look at the website and see if you can spot my work and let’s wait and see what happens.

Self Promotion/Applying

Posted in Everything Else, Internships by Paul on August 11, 2008

Just a quick post with a few photos of my self promotion that I have sent out to companies. Double-sided A3 posters showcasing my best projects printed on 100gsm/CV’s photocopied and reversed out on coloured 160gsm/1 x covering letter and all kept together in archival sleeves. I’ve also got some business cards printed up so altogether I think I am self promotion armed for the industry. I’ve learnt a lot about printers and costs in the process.

website/portfolio/PDFs/CV/business cards/double sided posters/covering letters – I think that’s everything?

I have also finished applying to my first lot of favourite companies so I will keep you all updated on how I do. Cunning, Airside and 180 Amsterdam to name a few.
